Pathways to Net-Zero

Introduction

Policy HAS02 of the Chetwynd Neighbourhood Plan proposes a Community Energy Project to reduce the carbon footprint of the area and to contribute to the Government’s Net-Zero objective.

Business Masters Project (Complete)

In early 2023 the CIC Commissioned some work from Masters Students at the University of Nottingham. Here is a copy of their final report.

Post Graduate Research (Active)

Applications for PhD Candidates are open until 15th December 2023 for the project starting in early 2024.

Starting in early 2024 a Collaboratory Research Project with the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University will use the Chetwynd Neighbourhood Area as a case study assessing technical solutions including solar PV, heat pumps and batteries, and exploring community perceptions and participation. Business Case Development (Proposed)

Based upon the work undertaken as part of the Post Graduate Research project, the CIC will develop a Business Case to implement the Community Energy Project within the Chetwynd Neighbourhood Forum Area and others as appropriate.
