Shaping the Transition to Zero Emission Vehicles

On the 24th December 2024 the UK Government published an Industry Consultation on restoring the 2030 phase out date for new purely petrol or diesel cars.

Whilst this is an industry consultation, the need to provide EV charging has an an impact upon new and existing housing and included in the consultation is Government guidance to Local Authorities on “safe and effective cross pavement charging solutions” which makes an interesting read.

Annington Homes and the MoD Reach Agreement

Some of the homes in Chetwynd Barracks were sold to Annington Homes in 1996 a decision which has for some years raised questions about the status of those homes and their impact upon any possible development of the Barracks.

It now seems that the MoD and Annington Homes have come to an agreement for the MoD to buy those homes back from Annington Homes.

The impact upon any development of Chetwynd Barracks is yet to be determined but we’ll let you know as we find anything out.

The Government’s paper is here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-buys-back-36347-military-homes-to-improve-housing-for-forces-families-and-save-taxpayers-billions
