but Broxtowe Borough Council are obviously trying to find a solution which will enable the Link Road to be built before any permission is granted for housing in and around Chetwynd Barracks. The Forum believe the Link Road is essential to any significant new housing in and north of Chetwynd Barracks as any other option will increase the traffic on Toton Lane/Stapleford Lane which is already congested.
This need (before housing gets built) was one of our comments to the Consultation on “Toton East” which seemed to propose another junction onto Stapleford Lane just by the entrance to the Tram which would obviously make the traffic flows much worse just around George Spencer Academy.
The Forum supports Broxtowe’s aims to get the link road built before any land is released for housing.
